Channa amphibeus — the Chel snakehead — is one of the least-seen fish in the country, known from a narrow run of hill streams at its type locality. Most aquarists will never see one in a tank. This print is the closest thing to keeping it: painted from life reference, wrapped bank-to-bed across the shirt. The upper body is the sandbank; the hem is the deep pool where the fish actually sits. Wear it, and someone asks what it is — which is the entire point. Every tee sold puts more native-species writing, filming and fieldwork out into the world under The Weekend Aquarist.

Available in two dual-tone variants:

Sandbank & Deep Teal: Warm camel sand up top, ripple-marked like a dry riverbank in the dry season, breaking into deep blue-green teal below the chest — the pool the fish actually holds in. Gold current lines run through the water; the Channa amphibeus sits at the edge of both, exactly where you'd find it.

Riverbed Sage & Deep Water: Pale sage green above, the colour of a hill stream at its type locality in low light, cut by a wavy channel into dark blue-teal that wraps over both shoulders. Faint spiral eddies and gold ripple lines move through the deep half, with the fish rising out of it in ochre and turquoise.
